Janelle Waldock is the Vice President of Community Health and Health Equity at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, where she leads Blue Cross’ overall strategy and approach to improving public health. Waldock joined Blue Cross in 2001 and has played a prominent role in the organization’s policy and advocacy efforts, including leading the coalition that supported the passage of the Minnesota’s Freedom to Breathe law. She has also been responsible for a number of successful initiatives focused on increasing healthy eating and active living across the state.
Prior to joining Blue Cross, Waldock led tobacco control policy campaigns and initiatives on behalf of the Hennepin County Community Health Department and Minnesota Smoke-Free Coalition.
She holds a B.S. in speech communication and organizational psychology, and an M.S. in experimental education from Mankato State University, and an M.A. in management and public administration from Hamline University.
